I went to work for Western Masonry in 1976. Back then it was H.P. Frisch Masonry and there was only H.P., another mason named Marvin, myself and a laborer. I learned the trade mostly doing residential work, building brick veneers and fireplaces and fireplaces and more fireplaces! As time went on and the company grew, more people came aboard and along with residential we also started doing commercial projects.

Over the years Iíve worked on a lot of interesting jobs and met a lot of interesting, fun and sometimes peculiar people. Most of the guys at Western Iíve known for a long time now and we all work together well. A couple of guys have sons that are now grown up and are learning the trade too.

The owners of Western Masonry have always been generous and concerned that they keep their guys busy and they are also flexible if you need time off. As I look back over the years, Westernís been a pretty good place to hang out.
